RISK FRAMEWORK
Risk is addressed before opportunity.
Position size, exposure, duration, and execution behavior are defined explicitly and enforced programmatically. No single model, assumption, or input is permitted to dominate system behavior. The system is designed with the expectation that not every season will be favorable. Risk is not eliminated. It is understood, bounded, and monitored.
TIME HORIZON
FlowHunter operates on systematic swing-trading horizons, typically holding positions over multiple trading sessions.
This time frame allows signals time to develop while remaining responsive to changing conditions. It avoids dependence on short-term noise without extending exposure unnecessarily. Operating across sessions introduces overnight risk, which is addressed directly through holding-period limits, exit logic, and monitoring — not ignored or deferred. The holding period is a design choice, not a compromise.
OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE AND OVERSIGHT
Research, implementation, and execution are separated by design.
Changes to models or parameters are documented, reviewed, and versioned. Constraints are embedded directly into execution logic. System behavior is evaluated holistically, not inferred from individual components. Operational discipline is inseparable from trading quality.
